The IC-F6121D has 128 channels and 8 memory banks, a 4 watt front mount speaker, and 4 programmable buttons. But that’s just a start. This business radio features IDAS™ conventional and IDAS single-site trunking, with Digital/Analog mixed mode operation, Built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS and MDC 1200 compatibility.
Icom’s IDAS™ digital mode operation allows the IC-F6121D to offer capabilities and features the usual analog mobile radios lack, and many of them are programmable, such as PTT ID, Status, Radio check, Call alert, Emergency (no ACK), GPS data (PC and software required to show received position data), Individual/Talkgroup list (Max 500), RAN (Radio Access Number), Stun/kill/revive (RX), Remote monitor (RX), Digital voice scrambler and SDM (Short Data Message).
Of course, the IC-F6121D has a full set of features in analog mode as well, including CTCSS/DTCS encode/decode, 8 DTMF autodial memories, 500 alias table, talk around function, Nuisance Delete, and Forced Narrow function. The IC-F6121D is also rugged. It has a tough aluminum die-cast chassis and polycarbonate front panel tested to meet MIL standard 810 F.
